COLOR PLAY

Today's luck is all about having fun with color. As you know here at between crowd we don't always use a lot of brake shoes and our wardrobe. Gabrielle especially is a fan of the neutrals and usually sticks to outfit's made of softer hues and color palettes. I wanted to try something new and put myself out of my style comfort zone. By combining bright pops of color against a cream colored skirt  I created a fun take on summer style.  To me this look is like fruit punch sweet, colorful and goes with just about anything!  I also wanted to mention this Racerback sweater from Modcloth which is  super comfortable and extremely affordable. A lot of women in the corporate world or with office jobs tend to struggle with the question what to wear to work? The key to office wear is having staples, which should include a fitted blazer, wide legged trousers, and a mid length skirt. Within these pieces you are more than welcome to play with colors and textures according to your office guidelines. An easy way to dress up your work wardrobe is to add a bright leather tote, bold heels, or gold statement jewelry. What you wear to work doesn't have to be blah, you can be playful with details like a faux leather skirt opposed to black pants. A friend made a comment, that this outfit reminded him of the movie Clueless (which is easily a favorite)! It's true because of the set like pieces, just changed by the new modern styles. Our weekend was lovely here in North Carolina, we were touched by beautiful weather and a couple perfect pool days. I love coming to NC around August because it's when the fall begins in New York, so I know I'll get at least one more warmer month when I come to visit the family. Since it is still quite hot here we are still in shorts and tees. This bright linen blend t-shirt from target is not only quality but super affordable! The electric orange hue really pops against these neutral blend shorts. Amber looks so great in color, I know were twins but our complexion is quite different and she can pull off vibrant colors better than I can(maybe I'm just afraid of color). We love spending time together and we always have fun with our shoots but this day was extremely hot, so we kinda couldn't wait to get into the ac (it was almost 100)! We both couldn't wait to check out the new Peter Pilotto collaboration with Target! When Amber went to see the collection for herself she fell in love with these sleek crepe trousers. Another plus was that they were on sale which is always amazing! The tapered bottoms and striped pattern gives the trousers a sporty vibe. When paired with a clean black tee and laser cut oxfords the look is complete. When wearing all black can create a look that's effortless and chic.
